Is August Britains Sexiest Month?

Lovehoney recently conducted a survey that concluded that August is when British people are most sexually active.

The hot weather may be responsible for the rise in sexual activity. People are more comfortable wearing less clothing and getting more sunlight, making them happier and sexier. The summer months of June and July rank second and third, respectively, while the winter months experience a decline in sexual activity. Despite Valentine’s Day being in February, February is the month with the least amount of sex. Only December, the month with mistletoe, festive frivolities and snowflakes, is bucking the winter trend.

The summer brings out the feel-good hormones dopamine and serotonin, which make us feel more frisky. In fact, July is a third more testosterone-rich than January.

Lancaster University psychologist Professor Cary Cooper said that the effect was partly opposite to Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Because women have the option to wear so many clothes, summer probably has a greater impact on them.

They can use this to feel more attractive and confident about themselves. Women do better with social interaction than men, and they are happier when they do.

It can be easy to forget about protection when there are so many hormones in your environment. Always be prepared, and always have a condom on you. You should also have an STI screening so that the only thing you can remember about your summer romances is good memories and not STIs.
